About

I worked as a remodeling carpenter and contractor in St. Paul and Minneapolis for many years, then as how-to writer and editor for The Family Handyman Magazine, American Woodworker, Birds and Blooms, and several book publishers. My most recent book is Lost Skills of the 19th Century, available on Amazon. I also write fiction that is somewhere between terrible and okay, but has the important virtue of at least being short. You can read a few examples on my blog, and also see woodworking and tiling projects I’ve done.
